RESOLUTION HONORING KIRT HUNT

RESOLUTION #03-245

WHEREAS, Kirt Hunt has been an active member of the Williamston Area Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service since October of 1945; and

WHEREAS, Kirt has served as the Chief of the 28 member Fire Department since1964; and

WHEREAS, Chief Hunt has been a strong advocate of Northwest Ingham Emergency Service Authority (N.I.E.S.A.); and

WHEREAS, during his years of service with the Fire and Ambulance Service, Kirt has saved the lives and property of citizens and helped bring new life into the world; and

WHEREAS, Kirt's interests went beyond fire safety, he also assisted the City of Williamston with elections, serving as an Election Inspector and was constantly fighting for what was right; and

WHEREAS, Kirt displayed his love for the community and the people by doing everything in his power to keep the City of Williamston and its citizens safe; and

WHEREAS, after 53 years of service with the Williamston Area Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service, with 39 of those years as Fire Chief, Kirt Hunt is retiring.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honor Kirt Hunt for his 53 years of service to the Williamston Area Fire Department and Ambulance Service and the entire Williamston community.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners extend its sincere appreciation to Kirt Hunt for his dedication and devotion to the Williamston Community and its citizens and for having a positive influence on their lives.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes him the best on his well deserved retirement.
